The proposal has two aspects - semantic and syntactic aspects. The former is reflected in consciousness-raising on the gap between the English/Japanese ways of setting subject and predicate, and the latter is reflected in presenting the typical patterns of complex/compound sentence patterns and the use of noun clause structures.
